Pig Farming in Tanzania is facing a number of challenges which include:
(a) Poor feeding practices among farmers due to high feed prices and insufficient knowledge and skills on appropriate feeds for the various categories of pigs
(b) High costs of Pig Farming inputs, eg Animal scales, Farrowing Crates, etc.
(c) Lack of exotic breeding stock
(d) Lack of modern slaughter facilities
(e) Un-organized market for pork meat and related products
