About US

The Tanzania Association of Pig Farmers (TAPIFA) is an apex private sector member based organization that advocates for the growth and competitiveness of the pig farming industry in Tanzania. Since its inception in 2016, TAPIFA has been an effective voicing platform for pig farmers in Tanzania. The Association safeguards the interest of the private sector and ensures the industry issues are well mainstreamed at the national and international agenda.

OUR MISSION

To serve the interests of Tanzania?s Pig Farmers who are members of the association by promoting and encouraging modern pig farming; consumption of pork products; research and information dissemination among Pig Farmers; and by establishing links with government and all stakeholders in the supply chain in Tanzania as well as globally.

OUR VISION

To be a voice and facilitator representing and supporting Tanzania?s Pig Farmers in their quest for profitability and sustainability.

OUR OBJECTIVES

The Association shall have the following objectives

To serve Pig Farmers, irrespective of size, tribe or locality;
To promote a spirit of co-operation and unity amongst Pig Farmers and ensure their economic viability;
To strive for the efficient and profitable production and orderly marketing of pigs to enable growers, with the minimum government interference, obtain the best prices, advantages and stability;
To continually study all aspects of the pig industry and, when necessary, obtain the co-ordinated view-points of role-players and interest groups in the pig industry;
To continuously liaise with the authorities and other groups to the best advantage of its members;
To act as a representative body in matters pertaining to the pig farming industry in Tanzania;
To collect, assemble, analyse and disseminate statistical, technical and other relevant information related to Pig Farming;
To generally do all such things as may be in the interests of its members.
To unite all Pig Farmers for their common benefit;
To provide a forum where collective action can be facilitated;
To lead by example in promoting safe healthy food and environmentally sound practices.
To collect and record data and facts relating to the pig farming and make this information available to its members and stakeholders.
